Multi-wavelength and multi-messenger data retrieval

The data agent retrieves observational data for the source you ask about and assembles them into one broadband dataset, from radio to gamma rays, ready for analysis and modeling.

Where the data come from

AstroGenesis currently retrieves data through the Markarian Multiwavelength Data Center (MMDC), which provides science-ready, curated multi-wavelength and multi-messenger datasets. Retrieval keeps the metadata on instrument, time coverage and observational context. The system is modular: further data centers and archives can be connected through API-based interfaces as support is added.

What the dataset contains

Each point keeps its observed frequency, its flux as νFν with uncertainty, and the start and end of its epoch. Upper limits are marked. You get a plot and a CSV file. Measurements are organised as a spectral energy distribution while their temporal context is preserved.

On top of retrieval the agent runs quantitative analyses of variability and cross-band behaviour, which give the observational basis for a physical interpretation.

Example and limits

Asked for the multi-epoch SEDs of Mrk 421 from 2009 to 2015, the agent returned 22,608 measurements from radio to gamma rays covering MJD 54832 to 57387, with a plot and a CSV file.

AstroGenesis works on science-ready data products. Analysis of raw instrumental data is not supported yet; pipelines for it are in development.
